What is Breathwork?

Breathwork (pranayama) is a general term used to describe directing the breath and/or breathing patterns to create healing & transformation within the physical, mental, and emotional bodies. There are many different techniques and modalities that each offer unique benefits.

Some breathing techniques (like box breathing & alternate nostril breathing) are helpful for daily meditation practice & in the moment calming of the nervous system.

There are other breathing techniques meant to enhance athletic performance & boost immunity (wim hof), and still others set out to induce psychedelic journey states (holotropic).

The breathwork we utilize at our sanctuary is often referred to as Transformative Breathwork, or simply Pranayama (by David Elliot). This 2 stage guided & active breathwork technique falls under the category of somatic, shamanic, psychedelic, and emotional release.
We use the breath to untether, release & clear out stuck emotional material, conditioning, programming, childhood imprints, and familial patterning. Allowing our hearts to open & making way to palpably experience the true essence of our being. Opening the channel of our life force energy to flow freely.
